This marks the closing of a wonderful story where Melanie learns to manage blog posts as a front end manager from guest writers and freelancers – also providing valuable feedback.

At this point, Melanie (not her real name by the way!), knows the following:

  1. The Importance of the Front End Post Submission (FEPS) Addon
  2. How you can manage freelance writers on your blog
  3. How to establish a guest post-receiving platform

Her final question was:

“How do I provide feedback from the front end? If I can do so, would I do it effectively?”

-Melanie

Previously, managers like Melanie had to rely on Google Docs and Sheets for these things. At one end, they have to manage their WordPress blog. On the other end, they have to be on Google for freelance and guest writer communication and feedback.

PostX has a great feature that will answer Melanie’s (as well as other content managers!) questions:

Suggesting and Commenting with the FEPS Addon

One of the great things about the PostX Front End Post Submission Addon is its features. In general, the options for creating and enabling writers on your WordPress site are few. It’s where FEPS shines!

Among these great features, you have comments and suggestions. But there’s a catch – we will share the details later.

In the case of Melanie, she needs to deal with freelance writers on a regular basis. She wants her blog to have the following:

  1. A sense of variety for the readers
  2. Authoritative posts from writers with different mindsets
  3. Build authority on the niche she is working on

In order to maintain these, she needs to work with her own writers she manages on a freelance basis. Also, she recently developed a way to create a way to collect guest posts for her blog using the guide on FEPS.

But the question is, how can she maintain it?

Comments and Suggestions are Limited to Freelance Writers only!

Content managers can write comments and suggestions on the submitted posts of freelance writers. Unfortunately, there is no way to offer suggestions to guest writers on the blog.

However, you can set your site for guest post receiving with the front end submission feature!

How to differentiate between the comments and suggestions?

In simple terms, you make a comment when you think something needs a change. On the other hand, you make a suggestion to ‘make something’ better. In the front end post submission addon, there are 2 types of colors.

***When you make a comment, it is highlighted in Yellow. For a suggestion, the color is purple.

FEPS comments and suggestions
FEPS comments and suggestions

The way the commenting and suggestion systems work is:

  1. A writer logs in and creates a post through his dashboard
  2. The writer submits the post for review
Writer submits work for review
Writer submits work for review

Once the writer submits a piece of blog content, it appears in the “Posts” section of the backend of the WordPress site. The writer manager will view it as a post pending publication. See the image below:

Now, let’s talk about providing effective feedback to freelance writers:

How to Give Feedback on Writing from WordPress Directly?

There are a couple of things you can do as a content manager. But, expert managers will tell you to work on the following:

  1. Be clear with the suggestions
  2. Stay focused on the problem
  3. Provide a sample solution
  4. Be respectful while suggesting something
  5. Clarify things by asking questions
  6. Be vigilant about the “writing” style

Now, let’s see if you can manage these things with the PostX Front End Post Submission Addon:

Offer Clear Suggestions

Offering clear suggestions is the first part of effective writing management for freelancers. When you are offering a suggestion, make sure to be “crystal clear”.

Here’s an example:

A freelance writer submitted a piece of content on the comparison between WooCommerce and Shopify. The beginning of the content feels a bit vague to you. Maybe you want to start off with some general statistical data to solidify the claim about which is the better option.

You can write a suggestion like this (remember, this is just an example):

‘I like the way you started. But you can make it better by adding some statistical data like the following:

“WooCommerce powers more than 40% of eCommerce websites around the world. In contrast, Shopify only has a 10% market share.”

Please try something like this.’

Here’s what it looks like from the editor’s end:

Be clear about your suggestions
Be clear about giving suggestions

Focus on the Problem

Focus on the problem does not mean you need to offend the writer. It means to let the writer learn from his or her mistakes and make their work better.

For example, let’s say the writer in question made some silly spelling mistakes. You, the content writer manager could comment on the mistakes – offering some constructive criticism.

Write clear and constructive comment
Write clear and constructive comment

What is the Role of the Writer?

A freelance writer, in this scenario, would do well to take the feedback and work on it in the best way he or she can manage. You see, there are some important things a writer needs to manage from his/her end:

  1. Make sure the writing grammar is correct
  2. Avoid spelling mistakes at all costs
  3. Be consistent with the writing style

*A ‘consistent’ writing style can vary from writer to writer. In general, if you are a freelance writer, you’d want to maintain the style of writing on ‘that’ blog. Sometimes it gets harder to maintain – but you will get used to it.

Provide Samples for the Solution You Want

This is a very important point.

As a writer manager, it is crucial for you to be precise and stay focused on the issue at hand.

At the same time, it is important to provide samples of the solutions. A freelance writer, who is new to the team, may have problems adjusting to the particular style of your blog.

So, it is essential you provide the right suggestions and make comments wherever possible in their writing. Unless it’s a minor thing that’s easy to fix, make sure to provide adequate examples.

In the previous sections, there was an example suggestion. Here’s another one:

Let’s say you wanted the final section of the content piece to be different, here’s how you can give the writer feedback:

‘You’re right. But this section needs to be comprehensive.

Please try to include information like this:

“Shopify has a good user interface. Also, because of its nature as a dedicated WooCommerce entity, you can make it work the way you want. Unfortunately, the functionalities will feel advanced for novice, and some intermediate users. 20% of the users do not appreciate the complexity of the system.”

Show examples to freelance writers
Show examples to freelance writers

When you are making a comment like this, make sure to include the following:

‘Please try to do your own research and come up with more interesting facts. Use the comment as your reference and write it in your own words.’

Be Humble and Respectful…

Don’t disrespect a writer. A freelance writer is like an ‘online’ colleague. Make sure to use ‘constructive’ words to help the writer make the changes you need.

Check out the examples we showed in the previous sections.

Ask for Clarification

If you do not understand the motive behind something, make sure to ask questions to the writer. Again, you can use the FEPS commenting feature to ask the freelancer for clarification on a particular section.

For example, if you, the editor, wanted some clarification on a particular section (or perhaps wanted something better), you could send a comment to the writer like this:

‘Good insight. But, can could you explain where you found the information? Also, could you back the claim up with other solid arguments?’

Ask questions to get insights
Ask questions to get insights

The Writing Style Needs to be close to ‘Accurate’

You could get close to accuracy. But you need to be vigilant about it.

You see, not all freelance writers can maintain the same level of consistency. It’s why the role of a writer manager is so important.

You need to be mindful of the consistency of the writeups you receive. For that, check every content you receive from the writers. Use the comment and suggestion features of the Front End Submission Addon to maintain the writing style of your blog.

If you can maintain it, it will:

  1. Help gain better authority
  2. Work as a motivator for Google SERP to keep you on top!

What Can a Freelancer Do with Writer Feedback?

You, as a manager, would want to write feedback that is constructive and useful – both for you and the writer.

Here, the question is: what should a writer do with the feedback?

Before answering this question, we would like to mention something:

What Happens When You Want to Send Back Content for the Writer to Edit?

There is an automated email notification you can enable for yourself and the freelance writers. When you add comments and suggestions and save them, the freelance writer will receive a notification that he or she will need to make some changes.

How will the writer edit the post?

The writer will find the post to edit from his dashboard. If he goes to edit the post, he will see the comments and suggestions marked by the editor.

Now, let’s get back to the topic at hand – what does a writer do with the feedback?

A freelance writer can do a couple of things here:

  1. He or she can take the comments and suggestions positively and improve it
  2. Only work to take care of the issues and be done with it
  3. Stop working for the client indefinitely

The wise thing to do here would be:

  1. To take the comments and suggestions positively
  2. Make the changes with his or her own concept
  3. Provide relevant content in line with the editor’s feedback
  4. Be on the same page with the editor

Did you know the PostX Year End Offers are LIVE? You can Unlock the Front End Post Submission feature and set up shop for online writer management, at a DISCOUNTED PRICE:

There’s more…

The question of ‘how to give feedback on writing’ can be subjective. But this much is clear:

You can manage freelance writer feedback with the Front end Post Submission Addon. Ultimately, you:

  1. Don’t need to rely on Google Docs for submission and post management
  2. Manage freelancers from the WordPress front end
  3. Give constructive writer feedback from the WordPress site

In short, you can manage writeup collection from the front end – no need to rely on any other 3rd party things.

How to Manage Guest Posting on Blogs from the Front End? https://www.wpxpo.com/guest-posting-on-blogs/ https://www.wpxpo.com/guest-posting-on-blogs/#respond Tue, 19 Dec 2023 11:07:49 +0000 https://www.wpxpo.com/?p=53557 ***This is the 3rd part of the continued discussion where Melanie (again, not her real name!) has to deal with guest posting on blogs. This time, she will try to set up her WordPress blog to receive guest posts.

Before we get on with the process, let’s rewind a little.

Previously, we talked about handling freelance writers from the WordPress front end. This was the first step to helping blog managers like Melanie become leaders in managing writers from the front end

But, to become an authoritative figure in her domain, writer managers need to embrace guest blogging (and how the front end submission addon can help).

What is Guest Posting?

Guest posting or guest blogging is the practice of writing and posting content on another website. For such a practice, the 3 goals are simple:

  1. Reach a ‘wider’ audience
  2. Increase search visibility
  3. Establish niche authority

*When your site gains “Niche Authority”, both the search engine and the users respect it and find it useful. It is an indication that you “know what you’re talking about”.

Is Guest Posting Easy?

In general, Guest posting is easy – if you know what you’re doing. Speaking of the things you should be doing as a “guest blogger”:

  1. Write unique content
  2. Include links to the content
  3. Use necessary images
  4. Include internal and external links
  5. Replicate the ‘feel’ of the blog

*When you are trying to replicate the feel of a blog, you are not ‘copying and pasting’ content from another blog. You submit a unique content, in a way that is presented on the blog where you are submitting the guest post.

This brings us to the subject of guest post management.

Manage Guest Posting on Blogs

Again, for managing guest posts on WordPress, you can rely on the Front End Post Submission (FEPS) addon of PostX. Content managers like Melanie will find it super useful because:

  1. Receive formatted guest posts
  2. Make changes on the backend
  3. Blog contents are ready for publishing

Once you set up, you don’t have to worry about copying and pasting the content from a Google doc. The beauty of the FEPS addon is:

  1. Helps create a post submission page
  2. The writers get access to a WordPress editor
  3. Use the editor with Gutenberg blocks
  4. Prepare unique content for a WordPress blog
  5. Submit for the editors review

*The reviewer/writer manager finds the content formatted and ready for approval. He or she can make changes readily and publish on the blog.

Prepare FEPS to Receive Guest Posts from the Front End

The process is super simple. Here are the 7 steps you need to follow:

  1. Enable Guest Post Submission through FEPS Settings
  2. Copy the shortcode for guest post submission page
  3. In the FEPS settings, and select a redirection page
  4. Make sure to Save the Settings
  5. Paste the shortcode a page of your choice
  6. Make sure to publish or update the page
  7. Add the page to your menu

If you go to the front end of your WordPress site and click on the guest submission page, you will find an editor. If a writer wishes to submit their posts, they can do it directly from the editor. How cool is that!

Now, let’s discuss these 7 steps in a bit more detail. On that note, you should know something:

These are the 7-steps that Melanie followed to create and manage guest posting on blogs (she has multiple blogs on different niches)!

Enable Guest Posting on Blogs

You need to enable the “Guest User Post Submission” in the Front End Submission Addon Settings. Without it, the feature will not function.

How to Manage Guest Posting on Blogs from the Front End?
Guest Posting on Blogs – FEPS settings

Copying the Shortcode

The shortcode is a snippet you need to paste on the WordPress page. You don’t need to create the code, you just have the copy it from the Front End Post Submission Addon settings.

Choose a Redirection page

Right under the shortcode section, you will find a dropdown for the redirection page. This is the page a writer will land once he or she submits the post.

Redirection Page for guest writers
Redirection Page for guest writers

Select a page of you choice.

Save the Settings

This is a “must-do” sort of thing. Without saving the settings, you will not be able to observe the changes you made.

Paste the FEPS Shortcode on a Page of Your Choice

You can use the default shortcode block on a page and paste the Guest Post Shortcode on the Page. You could name it something like “Guest Submission” as you see in the image below:

Copying the Shortcode for Guest Blogging Page
Copying the Shortcode for Guest Blogging Page

Publish or Update the Page

If you created a new page for guest posting or used an existing page, you need to either publish the page or update the existing one.

Add the Page to a Menu (Optional)

This step is a complimentary, but important.

You see, a guest blogger will need to find a way to submit the guest post directly. If you have the page on the menu (as we did), it is easier for the person to share access it.

Guest Post Submission from the Front End

***We have an in-depth guide to take you, and other blog managers through the entire process. Make sure to read the guide to get the information we missed.

How will the editor know about the writer?

There is a “Settings Wheel” through which the writer can let the content manager know the name of the writer, his or her email address, and any relevant portfolio links.

Submitting a Guest Post with Details
Submitting a Guest Post with Details

If the writer chooses to share these information, he or she can do it via from the page and submit it directly.

Here’s an example where a writer submits a guest post to a blog.

Where Will the Editor Find the Submitted Guest Post?

Writer Managers (like Melanie), will find the submitted guest posts in the “Posts” section of the WordPress backend. From there, they can make changes or directly publish the page.

Submission Info for Guest Writer

A Message for the Guest Writer…

If you are a guest writer and you are reading this, you need to know a couple of things:

  1. Don’t be too hasty with the outreach
  2. Send guest blogs to more than 5 sites
  3. Look for sites with a FEPS System

Sites with the PostX Front End Submission System have a system ready to receive blog posts in a formatted way. It’s ready for review the moment you send it. In such cases, the chances of your guest being published are more – simply because everything is easy to review and publish.

Here are some other things that’ll help you increase your chances:

  1. Understand the ‘feel’ of the blog
  2. Show your niche expertise
  3. Be creative with your work
  4. Give a URL of your Portfolio through the submission system

What this Means for Guest Posting…

In the previous 2 posts of this series, we helped Melanie and other writer managers:

  1. Understand the need for a FEPS system on their blogs
  2. How easy it is to manage Freelance writers with FEPS

In this 3rd installment, Melanie learned:

  1. How to set a Guest Posting on Blogs
  2. How it can help her maintain guest post submissions

In the next chapter, we will talk about ways to give effective feedback to freelance writers

See you very soon!

Postx vs Blog Designer Pack: Which Is the Best WordPress Blog Plugin? https://www.wpxpo.com/postx-vs-blog-designer-pack/ https://www.wpxpo.com/postx-vs-blog-designer-pack/#respond Tue, 12 Dec 2023 11:32:29 +0000 https://www.wpxpo.com/?p=53379 WordPress is the easiest and most cost-friendly content management system. That is why 43% of live websites are hosted on WordPress.

This free-to-use CMS helps beginners start their blogging journey without any technical knowledge. With the help of WordPress, beginners can start working towards their dream project by purchasing only domain and hosting.

However, once the blogs started gaining popularity, they started thinking about improving their site’s design. That’s where the Pro plugins take place. But the question is which plugins we should go for?

You are at the right place if you are also looking for a pro plugin and tried juggling the free version.

In this blog post, you will get an in-depth explanation of two of the best WordPress Blog Plugins, PostX, and Blog Designer Packs.

PostX Overview

PostX is a Gutenberg-based plugin to build News, Magazines, and any kind of Blogging sites effortlessly. Its drag-and-dropable Gutenberg post block makes it easier to display posts in organized and gorgeous layouts.

PostX – Gutenberg Post Grid Blocks

PostX Dynamic Site Builder, 300+ Patterns, and Templates make it stand out from similar solutions. That’s why it is gaining popularity among new and established bloggers and website-building agencies.

Blog Designer Pack Overview

Blog Designer Pack is another stand-out blogging plugin. It allows us to redesign our blogging sites with Post Grid, Post List, and Slider layouts.

Blog Designer Pack

Like PostX, the Blog Designer Pack is very popular among bloggers. More than 30,000 WordPress users are using it to create and manage their blogging sites.

Why Compare PostX with the Blog Designer Pack?

If you are already using PostX you are probably wondering why are we comparing the 2 products.

A few of our existing users asked, how PostX is better than the Blog Designer Pack. It is a common question to be asked when you are considering getting the Pro version of PostX. Because everyone wants the best solution when comes to spending their cash on a product.

WordPress recommends PostX and the Blog Designer Pack when someone searches for “WordPress Blog Plugin”.

WordPress Blog Plugin

Considering all of these reasons, we decided to make an in-depth comparison of the 2 blogging plugins. So if you are still confused about whether you should go for PostX Pro or look at other solutions, check out the full comparison.

Comparison Between PostX Vs Blog Designer Pack

Let’s start the comparison based on features as both of these plugins offer similar types of solutions.

Post Display Layouts

PostX has 15+ Gutenberg post blocks for displaying posts in post grids, post lists, and slider layouts. All of these postblocks have vast customization options and 4+ premade design variations.

The Blog Designer Pack also has post-displaying layouts to display posts in an organized way. However, the layouts are limited to only design variations and a few customization options.

Post Grid

Both PostX and Blog Designer Pack allow us to display posts in grid layouts. PostX has 7 post grid variations with customization options and 4+ premade design variations for each of the layouts.

Post Grid Layout

On the other hand, the Blog Designer Pack has only 5 Post Grid layouts with 2 design variations for each layout.

Post Slider

PostX has one simple and one advanced post-slider variation. Both have 4+ premade design variations as slider layouts. You are free to change any design properties of the premade designs as per your choice.

Post Slider 2 Variations

But the Blog Designer pack has a single slider layout with 2 design variations and a limited number of customization options. It’s not as flexible as you may think!

Post List

PostX has 4 layouts to display posts in list view. All of the post-list layouts have complete customization freedom and numerous design variations as well.

Blog Designer Pack has no options to choose between post list layouts. You only have 2 design variations and a few options for design customizations.

Advanced Query Builder

The Query Builder of PostX has all types of post-sorting options you can think of. You can display pages, posts, custom post types, and posts & pages at once in the same layouts. Not only that but you can also sort the posts based on categories, tags, or both at once!

Moreover, you can create popular, related, random, most commented, etc posts section with a single click. Furthermore, you can also reorder the posts based on multiple criteria.

The Blog Designer query builder has a limited number of post-sorting options. Not only Blog Designer Pack, but NO OTHER PLUGIN can beat PostX when it comes to the post sorting options.

Post Filter

PostX posts filtering feature allows you to let your readers filter posts by categories and tags. It is an Ajax filter, so your readers will be able to explore their desired types of posts instantly without reloading the whole page.

It’s a downside that the Blog Designer Pack does not have the post-filter features. According to me, it is an important feature for any kind of blogging site.

Paginations

PostX offers three types of paginations. You can choose from the 3 types of pagination- Numeric, Load More, and Navigation while customizing Post Grids or Post List layouts.

But the Blog and Designer Pack offers 6 types of pagination: Load More, next/prev, load more, and on scroll loading paginations.

So in this case, it’s better than PostX. However, our paginations work with the Ajax filtering capabilities. Overall, if you want full customization on all fronts, PostX gives you the opportunity.

Ease of Use

PostX works with the Gutenberg Ecosystem making it easy to use. You just need to drag and drop post blocks to the editor, that’s all.

The layout you chose will be added along with the latest posts of your blog. And, of course, you can sort and display your desired posts on your chosen layout.

In contrast, the Blog Designer Pack follows the “Old” working method. First of all, you need to choose your desired layout, customize it, and generate shortcodes. Then you can display the customized layout to your desired page using the shortcode.

Design Library

The main reason behind PostX’s popularity is its design library. It comes with 300+ ready post sections and full page layouts, and it’s increasing.

You will be glad to have so many ready templates for the Home Page. You can choose your niche-specific template and also customize it based on your requirements.

Not only that, but you also get ready-made templates for all of your category pages, tag pages, author pages, search result pages, and blog posts as well.

So, you can easily build professional-looking News, Magazines, or any kind of Blog with a few clicks.

However, the Blog Designer pack doesn’t have any templates. You need to build everything from scratch.

Supported Page Builders

PostX is a Gutenberg-based plugin. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t use its amazing designs with third-party builders.

We have integrations with Elementor, DIVI, Oxygen, WPBakery, and Bricks Builder. If you like any PostX blocks and templates, you can generate shortcodes and use them with the mentioned page builders.

The Blog Designer Pack also works with page builders like Elementor, Visual Composer, WPBakery, Gutenberg, etc.

Leading from the Front as a Writer Manager! https://www.wpxpo.com/front-end-writer-manager/ https://www.wpxpo.com/front-end-writer-manager/#respond Mon, 11 Dec 2023 09:02:27 +0000 https://www.wpxpo.com/?p=53432 This is the first part of an interesting series. Here, the writer manager finds something new!

One of our users, Melanie (not her real name!) had a chat with one of the support guys a couple of months back!

“I do appreciate the support you provide. The plugin (PostX) works great for me. However, I had something in mind.”

-Melanie

“What’s that?”

-The support guy

“You see, I have a team of writers who write for me. Google docs is great and all, but I sometimes don’t have the energy to format all the posts and submit them. Sometimes, I feel like I’m not a great content manager.”

-Melanie

“We do have something, but it’s in the planning stage.”

– reply from the support.

Fast forward a few months, the WPXPO team comes up with the Front End Post Submission (FEPS) Addon for WordPress.

We’ll start from the top. Today’s discussion will focus on the specific duties of a content manager, and how the Front End Post Submission feature can help a manager out.

What is a Writer Manager?

A writer manager or content manager or web content manager, whatever you want to call it, manages writers.

In some cases, a content manager will write blog posts, social media content, product descriptions, etc. – but not in a broad sense. Their key role is to manage the flow of writers, whether that’s freelance or in-house.

In short, manage writers to ensure “user-first” content gets on the website. This includes almost every area of content marketing. Melanie, is one of such users.

Key Tasks of a Content Manager
Key Tasks of a Content Manager

In general, users like Melanie have some experience of managing writers. They are typically not your entry-level writers or web copywriters. Their experience can be in a variety of areas like – strategic marketing, content management, project management etc.

Generally, companies prefer a combination of these experience.

The bottom line is this – if your company is trying to get a message to the customer base, the content marketing manager will likely be one of the responsible figures to get the message through to the users!

And people like this require a solution.

How can Front End Post Submission Help?

The Front End Post Submission (FEPS) feature is designed to help managers handling content for their sites.

There are a couple of reasons why it’s the perfect solution for single site owners and small businesses. Site owners who are looking to create news portals, magazine sites, or something similar, will benefit from the addon.

The addon is essentially a set of well thought out features.

The Ability to Handle Freelance Writers

One of the jobs of a web content manager is to manage freelance writers.

Now managers at large firms have access to advanced tools and personnel. But, for owners like Melanie, getting access to such tools can be a hassle.

So they choose Google docs right?

Google docs is great and all. But there are a couple of issues with it:

  1. The content format sometimes breaks when you copy it and past it on the WordPress editor
  2. The images do not paste to the editor at times
  3. The manager will have to paste a custom asset manually (like snippets of code)
  4. The content editor will need to manage a separate sheet for the content published, submitted, or put in draft, by freelance writers
  5. Giving permission to the writers on your site directly can cause security problems

These are just a couple of issues on the surface.

With the addon, Melanie, or other users like her, can easily manage freelance writers. The addon enables site admins to:

Benefits for Blog Owners/Solo Content Managers:

  • Edit freelance content from the dashboard directly
  • Write comments and suggestions – directly on the WordPress editor
  • Enable the SEO plugin you use for your site for the freelancer
Writer Manager manages posts from the WordPress dashboard
Writer Manager manages posts from the WordPress dashboard
  • Manage permissions for writers working on blog posts

The next question is, do the freelance writers get anything. It turns out they do!

Benefits for Freelance Writers

Here are the benefits freelance writers get from the front end post submission addon:

  • Freelance writers can manage their writeups from a dashboard
  • They get access to the WordPress editor – no need to write content and send it via google doc
Gutenberg Post Editor - Back End View for Freelance Writers
Gutenberg Post Editor – Back End View for Freelance Writers
  • Use the Gutenberg blocks to create blog content

***In the next part of the series, we explain how the addon creates a bridge between freelance writers and the content manager!

Manage Guest Bloggers from the Front End

Guest blogging is a win-win partnership. It benefits both the site owner and the guest blogger.

Again relying on Google docs can be hassle (as mentioned in the previous section). It’s better if there was a system for guest writers to submit their posts directly to through the front end system

The WPXPO team had the following thought in mind:

“If a guest writer can use Gutenberg blocks to submit a post, it takes load off the site manager. It’s already formatted, no need for extra work.”

All you have to do is set it up for your blog. Then writers get direct access to the WordPress editor, they can send their writeups directly to the admin, formatted and ready for publishing

This helps users like Melanie with a couple of things:

  1. No need to give access to guest users
  2. The post is already formatted, ready for publication
Gutenberg Guest Post Editor
Gutenberg Guest Post Editor

In short, it takes a lot of formatting work out of the equation. The editor or manager can check whether or not the content provides value, make minor adjustment and publish it to the site.

Melanie had a question regarding this issue:

“How do I set it up?”

Well, we don’t just want to help Melanie. We want to help you as well. Here’s the part where Melanie decides and tries to create a Guest post section on her blog with FEPS.

Providing Feedback to the Writer

This is an interesting feature!

You see, if you have been managing writers using Google docs and sheets, you know the process of sharing feedback is easy.

Ask anyone, they will admit that the process is easy! But, as mentioned earlier, there are some issues with the whole process of managing writers through Google docs.

The team tried to bring that same exact flavor to the FEPS feature – making the feature more manageable from the front end.

But, there is a catch.

In general, you will be able to provide feedback to the freelance writers working for you. Guest writers can only submit the post, you need to make the changes on your own.

But…

You can add comments and suggestions to the posts of freelance writers. Once you add a comment or a suggestion, the writer can make changes accordingly.

Post After Adding Comments and Suggestions
Post after adding comments and suggestions

Now the question is:

How these Features Help a Web Content Manager?

The core features of the FEPS can help a manager in the following fields:

Spend More Time on Skill Enhancements

The front end submission feature allows content managers to:

  1. Save time on content formatting
  2. Not rely on other tools for management

So, the manager can work on the following essential skillset

  1. Build project management, writing, marketing, and other skills
  2. Work on critical thinking to manage site originality
  3. Work on CMS skills (how to work with the WordPress eco-system)

Enable Better Communication

Communication skills are one of the major building blocks of an effective writer manager.

The Front End Post Submission (FEPS) feature can help with that. There is a feature within the addon that allows automated email communication.

For example, if you completed adding comments and suggestions, you can enable the automated email notification feature to send notifications to the writer. Also, once the writer completes working on the content and submits it back, an email notification reaches the manager.

This helps with a couple of things:

  1. The content manager can maintain proper communication with freelancers
  2. He or she can free up time and focus on other marketing communications

What’s next?

Melanie got to know the features, so did you. Also, you now know how the front end post submission addon can help lead from the front as a writer manager.

Melanie had a few issues. For example, she wanted to know:

“How do I set up the system for freelance writers?”

That’s a discussion for the next chapter in this series. Stay tuned as we show Melanie :

  1. How to set up front end submission for freelancers
  2. Working with a Guest Posting Platform on her blog
  3. How to offer feedback to freelance writers

And yes, if you do have any questions, sound off in the comments below.

Why PostX is More Powerful than Ever? https://www.wpxpo.com/postx-is-more-powerful/ https://www.wpxpo.com/postx-is-more-powerful/#comments Tue, 28 Nov 2023 09:26:20 +0000 https://www.wpxpo.com/?p=52949 The discussion for today is, “Why PostX is more powerful than ever?”

Before we answer that question, we would like to take you back in time.

It was early 2018. The founders of PostX, Jakir Hasan and Anik Biswas of WPXPO, sat close to a whiteboard, searching for inspiration:

“How could we make Gutenberg blocks more useful to help users create blog sites?”

After a few months of arguing, planning, and prototyping – the PostX Gutenberg blocks plugin was born.

Since then, users found it to be a useful plugin for creating blogs on WordPress.

In 2022, some drastic changes came to the PostX plugin [the trend continues in 2023]. Still, some users couldn’t understand our motives – where the product was going, how was it going to solve the problems for them?

How was the Early Version of PostX?

In 2022, some major changes came to the PostX plugin. Among these changes, the PostX Gutenberg builder ranks at the top.

The PostX Gutenberg builder was a big step forward for PostX. Finally, it started to spread its wings – evolving from a ‘blocks’ plugin to a ‘builder plugin.

Also, around this time, some ‘quality-of-life’ changes did make their way to the users.

However, did not understand the vision behind the process. And, unfortunately, some of our loyal users changed tracks because of the way we were (and still are!) growing.

That changes now.

We want to clarify the trajectory of PostX – how we are bringing constant changes, what features we are bringing, and (according to the co-founder):

“We want to grow with our users. Are we doing it right?”

Jakir Hasan, WPXPO

PostX is Constantly TRYING…

We agree not all of our releases went smoothly. And this saddened a lot of you out there.

But, the PostX team is trying, constantly. The developers are on the lookout for new issues and trying to solve them to the best of their abilities.

Is PostX the best development team?  No.

However, the team’s vision is:

To be better than the best.

And this is what drives them. With the help of the ever-relentless support team, they are solving problems – fixing bugs and making you, our users happy!

Here are a couple of user-focused issues the team fixed over the last couple of weeks:

  1. Users were having a hard time using pagination and filter at the same time, it’s now fixed.
  2. The theme compatibility issues regarding Full-site Editing Support are fixed
  3. The post-repetition issue with the single post builder has been taken care of
  4. The team repaired the video pop-up escape button issue
  5. The taxonomy block “icon” issue in the design library is now fixed
  6. The PostX Social Share Block RTL support issue is fixed
  7. The issue with the related posts’ repetition issue with filter and pagination is fixed.

The team is hard at work to resolve issues from the users. However, not all issues are the same. Some fixes need more time than others.

The PostX changelog is the best way to learn about the bug fixes that have gone out in the past couple of days. The team is providing updates on a regular basis. Meaning your issue may not be far behind (if you are waiting for a fix).

Some of you may not be happy with the way we handle the product fixes. However, it would not be a good thing if you didn’t give us a chance.

Why not run it back one more time? Why not give PostX another chance?

Why PostX is More Powerful Now? [What’s New]

PostX isn’t just powerful because of the well-machined team. It’s also powerful because of the features it developed over the past couple of months.

All these features will allow you to do the following 5 things:

  1. Help you build your site easily
  2. Handle freelance writers without hassle
  3. Get a taste of AI writing
  4. Build custom parts for your site
  5. Make your website look visually appealing

Now, let’s have a discussion about the new features:

Front End Post Submission [The Newest Feature!]

The Front End Post Submission Addon is the newest addition to the PostX family. One of the team members of PostX, during the ideation time, found out the following issues a user may have using the PostX plugin:

  1. Writers are unable to send writeups to the blog admin in a formatted way
  2. The blog admin had to reformat the writing in the Gutenberg Editor
  3. The writers and the blog admins couldn’t work on projects with ease

In short, the problem was like a double-edged sword. Unfortunately, both the writer and blog admin were facing the issues. Here’s a quick video overview:

PostX Front End Post Submission

It’s why the Front End Post Submission Addon came to light. According to one of the core marketing contributors, Omith Hasan

“The admins of blogs can now handle freelance writers from the front end. Our addon doesn’t just help receive formatted content – admins can send their comments and suggestions to the writers. The writers can work on those suggestions. It’s like Google Docs for the WordPress front end.”

Although it’s still in its early stages, blog owners can take advantage of it. The system will evolve in the coming days.

For that, your feedback will be appreciated as well.

Here’s a snapshot of a user adding a comment to a blog post of one of the writers:

Add Comments to a Post
Add Comments to a Post

Here are some answers for you:

Can you handle guest writers with the addon?

The addon has the functionality. You can create a custom “Write for Us” page where the writer can get access to a WordPress Gutenberg editor directly from the front end. From there, he or she can use default Gutenberg blocks to prepare the post and submit it.

What happens when an admin makes some suggestions on a post?

There is a real-time email notification system that you can either enable or disable depending on your choice. So when a blog admin adds suggestions and submits them. The writer will receive an email, prompting him to make the changes.

How do Writers know which posts got published?

A freelance writer will have a dedicated dashboard. From there, they can see which posts got published and which are still in draft.

These are just a couple of things about the addon.

Feeling interested?

Why not take a quick look at this feature? The resource below will help you out on how to get started:

Using the Front End Post Submission – How to Get Started!

The Power of ChatGPT is Open

The content landscape saw a big change with the introduction of ChatGPT. And we didn’t want our users to feel left out.

So, we created the ChatGPT addon for PostX!

The addon allows the users to:

  1. Create various forms of content with AI
  2. Save time during content creation
  3. Make your content free of grammatical errors
  4. Be more productive with the output

Here are some queries you may have about the addon:

How do you use the addon?

To use the addon, you need to do the following 4 things:

  1. Enable the addon
  2. Activate the Secret Key
  3. Write and modify the content with the addon
  4. Import the content to the Gutenberg editor

Here’s how a writer can get help from CHATGPT in PostX. He or she can modify and import the content just the way they want:

PostX ChatGPT Customization
PostX ChatGPT Customization

Is it mandatory to have a secret key?

Yes, it is. Otherwise, you will not be able to use the GPT functionalities.

How do I get a secret key for the addon?

It is very easy to get a secret key for the PostX ChatGPT Addon:

  1. Go to openai.com and create an account
  2. Log in to the account and select API
  3. In the dashboard, click on the “lock” icon
  4. Go to the page and click on “Create New Secret Key”
  5. In the dialogue box, give your secret key a name and click on create
  6. You will now see the secret key in a dialogue box
  7. Copy the key

If you want to learn more about the feature, you can check out the resource below:

Building Custom Headers and Footers [and the 404 Page!]

To make a site complete, a header and footer is necessary. Without a proper header or footer, you can’t uphold your true brand identity to the world.

Custom Header Design with PostX
Custom Header Design with PostX

Not only that, but some people also like the option to create a custom WordPress 404 page.

The process is sort of similar for the header, footer, and the 404 page:

  1. Install and activate the PostX plugin
  2. Enable the PostX builder addon from the dashboard
  3. Select “Header” from the builder menu
  4. Choose a template and import it
  5. Check the conditions to show the header on all pages by default
  6. Publish the header template

This is the easy way to build a custom header with the help of our templates (more on templates in a bit!) You can choose to build it from scratch as well.

If you want to explore this new feature further, make sure to check out the following resource:

How to Customize Header and Footer Designs?

Use Custom Fonts for Your Blog

The reasons behind adding the custom font feature are:

  1. Enable bloggers to use their brand assets
  2. Help bloggers establish their authority through a custom feel

One of the key product ideators here at WPXPO, Tuhin, had this to add:

“A custom font talks about your brand. It helps people identify you among a pool of creators.”

With PostX, you can create your custom identity with ease. The question is, how do you add a custom font to your site?

It’s simpler than some of the other choices out there. To add a custom font to your news-magazine site, you need to follow these 4 steps:

  1. Enable the PostX Custom Font Addon
  2. Go to the Custom Font Settings
  3. Add the Font file
  4. Publish the changes

Once you do this, you can use a custom font anywhere on your site (as long as you are using a PostX block). Here’s a quick video overview to help you with the process:

Add Custom Font in WordPress

Here are answers to some questions you may have:

What type of files can I upload in the system?

At the time of writing, you can add font files in 5 different formats. These formats are TTF, WOFF, WOFF2, SVG, and ELT. The same is true for the WooCommerce offering from WPXPO, ProductX. You can add your custom fonts to product pages with ProductX as well.

***ProductX is a WooCommerce builder plugin that has a similar taste to PostX, but for online stores. You can check out the Cyber Monday Wave and SAVE A LOT! Why not take a look at the pro version to see if it works for you?

New Post Blocks for Extra Functionality

There are a couple of new post blocks that will help you build better blog pages:

The Row/Column Block

The row/column block is super useful for creating great-looking blog pages. The flex properties are one of the more attractive features of the block – you can use them to show your posts in various orientations this way. Here’s a quick look:

The PostX Row/Column Block
The PostX Row/Column Block

One of our in-house contributors had this to add:

“The row/column block adds complexity, but in a good way. This will appeal to users who are more advanced in creating blog sites.”

There’s a great resource on how to use the row/column block. You can read about it in the following link:

How to Use the Row/Column Block in PostX?

The Search Block

The search block is an interesting addition to the PostX feature set. This allows users to make search queries and get results in a reimagined way.

Why PostX is More Powerful than Ever?

A discussion like this cannot cover the entire PostX search block. So, we would like you to go through the following resource to learn about the search block:

Working with the PostX Advanced Search Block

The Button Block and the List Block

Both these blocks work great when you use them together. But, you are not bound to use them together. You can use them for some creative applications in your block. Here is a snapshot of one of the designs:

A Snapshot of the PostX Button Group
A Snapshot of the PostX Button Group

Of course, both these blocks have pre-made design templates – as do the search block for PostX.

Here are the resources that will help you understand the button block and the list block better:

  1. How to use the button block?
  2. Working with the PostX list block?

Integrations with Popular Page Builders

This is one of the more revolutionary features of PostX.

You can simply use the dedicated addons for the various page builders and use them with PostX. This does 2 things for you:

  1. You can use your favorite page builder
  2. You can use the advanced features of PostX

In the beginning, only the Elementor builder had dedicated support with PostX. You had to use the saved templates feature of PostX. Although the feature worked really well, users didn’t find it to be very efficient.

But now, the feature is more mature and helps users solve their blog-related issues.

But, then the team thought, why stop there? There are users out there who are using different page builders, what about them?

Thanks to some forward thinking and dedication from the dev team, we’ve managed to bring support for:

Some of you may be working with some other page builders. Leave us a comment if you want support for other page builders.

These are some of the features you can experience right now with PostX. So, making the most of the offers during this Cyber Monday can prove to be beneficial.

Now, let’s check out the new things!

What’s Coming to PostX? [Even More Power!]

You should now have a vibe as to why PostX is more powerful than ever. However, the development team will add more features in the coming days, making it an even more powerful plugin.

More Design Patterns are Coming!

We already have a wide design pattern library for the post blocks. But, we have more design patterns in the pipeline, ready to be revealed!

Template Kits for Websites

Template kits are going to be a game changer.

These are page-building templates that will create your web pages just by clicking import once! In short, if you click “Import” on a template kit of your choice, you will import pages for a full website.

Fascinating, isn’t it? Hopefully, we can get a working demo to you very soon.

Also, new single-page templates are coming as well.

We have a new fashion blog template – fresh out from development. You should probably check that out!

Compare Products with the Comparison Feature

Bloggers of affiliate websites can now stop worrying about installing new table plugins in WordPress.

Because PostX is about to bring a strong comparison feature – looking to empower product reviewers.

Hopefully, the wait for this will be very short.

Advanced Search Filter [Powerpul Post Filter]

The post-filtering capabilities of the plugin will soon reach new heights. It’s in the pipeline and will soon be available with PostX.

Pay to Write [Pay Writers Up Front!]

The Pay-to-Write feature will probably be one of the major ones.

Writers will have a dashboard where they will be able to see their earnings. Also, they will be able to see how much they are getting paid per blog post, whether have they been paid or not, etc.

The Choice is Yours…

We can’t force you to trust us. But we can lay down the facts of why PostX is more powerful than ever.

And so we did.

But, in the end, we would like you to give us a second chance. Previously, we had many issues with our product and our vision.

But now, we are more committed than ever. As the CTO adds:

“We try our best to offer something a user would like to use. Sometimes we fail to convey the right message. But now, we are more ready to offer a better experience.”

So, why not try out PostX once more?

The choice is yours.

Why is ProductX a Powerful WooCommerce Page Builder? https://www.wpxpo.com/why-productx-woocommerce-plugin-is-more-powerful/ https://www.wpxpo.com/why-productx-woocommerce-plugin-is-more-powerful/#respond Thu, 23 Nov 2023 04:01:25 +0000 https://www.wpxpo.com/?p=52498 The discussion focuses on the 8 reasons why ProductX is more powerful than other WooCommerce Page Builder options.

But first, let’s look at some stats

WooCommerce had the highest market share in the eCommerce website space, 36.68% according to the reports.

That’s not all.

More than 6.3 million WordPress sites are running WooCommerce. Also, WooCommerce powers every 1 in 5 websites

So, the probability of you trying to sell your online products using WooCommerce is very high!

We also understand there are not many plugins out there that can help you build your site with ease – letting you build something without coding.

Well, the ProductX WooCommerce builder can be your best friend here.

But before that, let’s explore how the plugin was back in the day.

What was ProductX in the Early Days?

Jakir Hasan, the man behind the ProductX plugin, had this to say:

“We wanted to give a fully-featured WooCommerce solution for WordPress users. We wanted them to have a fun and wholesome experience when they built their store with ProductX, harnessing the power of Gutenberg.”

The plugin that initially started in 2019 – wanted to live up to the expectations of the users.

But, the promise was only ‘partially’ fulfilled.

In the early days, it was a “WooCommerce blocks plugin”. Using the power of Gutenberg, it came up with Product blocks that helped to design various WooCommerce pages.

Other features like product pricing, product stock, add to cart, etc. came as customizable blocks.

In short, you could use Gutenberg-like ProductX blocks to create Woocommerce pages.

This approach had a problem.

The users had to manually design each page with the product blocks. Also, they had to make customizations to each of the blocks individually.

At the start, users loved the approach. They loved the Lego-like approach to building WooCommerce pages.

Still, the blocks felt unpolished. And they feature themselves felt incomplete.

On top of that,  the plugin interface on the back end wasn’t very user-friendly. WooCommerce shop builders found that they couldn’t solve issues through the dashboard.

“How can we offer a better experience? How can the user create their WooCommerce store in a few clicks, without looking to bring each block one by one to the page?”

The team wanted to offer something to users of all levels:

“How can we build something that novice users can build without heavily customizing WooCommerce pages with the blocks? Or if they wanted to build something custom, how could they do that?”

These questions and thoughts led to the following 8 reasons why ProductX is more powerful – why is it a better WooCommerce Page Builder?

Here are 8 reasons why:

1. A Reimagined User Interface for ProductX

The reimagined interface came with the latest version of the plugin, ProductX 3.0!

Anik Biswas, one of the key decision-makers for the WooCommerce plugin, had this to share:

“The user needs to feel comfortable with our plugin. When they see the interface for the first time, they should find the helpful resources easily.”

Keeping these thoughts in mind, the team came up with a dynamic design.

The new back-end interface of the plugin is:

  1. Very fluid and dynamic
  2. Offers easy navigation to the different sections of the plugin
  3. Helps users find useful resources directly from the dashboard

Anik Biswas adds that:

“We wanted the users to have full control.”

So far, the UI of version 3.0 lived up to the promise. Users feel more connected to the product. They find the new interface to be more welcoming as all the resources are readily available to them.

It’s one of the key reasons for ProductX to be such a popular page builder.

But the revamped WooCommerce Page Builder is what makes it more powerful.

2. The Powerful ProductX WooCommerce Page Builder

The ProductX WooCommerce Page Builder initially launched with version 2.0. So, it’s not exactly new.

The idea was to help both novice and expert users build pages for the WooCommerce store with minimal hassle.

It should feel like a no-code builder. But with options to import custom designs with a single click. Also, the chance to show them on particular pages.

The WooCommerce version 3.0 page builder had the following things to offer:

  1. A new interface offering more control over the page deployment
  2. Ready-made page templates for quickly creating WooCommerce pages
  3. A reviewed design to view, edit, publish, and bring WooCommerce pages to draft

These 3 things, combined together, managed to solve a lot of issues users were having.

One of the key developers, Tazin, had this to say:

“The plan was to make the whole process easier for the user. If a user can’t find the right setting in the right place, it’s not a complete experience.”

In the previous versions, the builder interface felt half-baked. It didn’t have the right things to help the user build a proper WooCommerce page without difficulties.

But now, things have changed.

The 2-ways of Building a WooCommerce Shop Page Template

Before we start with the creation of a WooCommerce shop page template, you need to know:

What is a WooCommerce Shop Page Template?

You used a WordPress theme before right? The concept is similar.

When you install and activate a theme, it takes all the contents in your website and arranges them in a format.

The concept of a page template is similar.

If you design a shop page template and publish it with the ProductX WooCommerce builder – you will be able to see the shop page in the front end.

Again, it works similar to a WooCommerce theme.

What is a Pre-made Template Design

Before we answer this question, just know that the plugin has 50+ of these templates ready for you.

Remember how the shop page templates are like themes. Well, sometimes, with various themes, you get pre-made page designs.

If you import one of those pages, for example, the homepage, it will look like the pre-made design you imported.

ProductX Pre-made Templates
ProductX Pre-made Templates

A ProductX pre-made template design is similar. For every WooCommerce page imaginable, you get a number of templates.

Now, let’s get back to creating the WooCommerce shop page.

Process 1. How to Import a Pre-made ProductX Design Template

The first way is simple and suitable for beginners. You use a pre-made template as a shop page.

Before you do that, make sure to install and activate both the WooCommerce and ProductX plugins. Otherwise, the process will not work.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Go to ProductX > Addons and enable the WooCommerce Builder Addon
  2. Click on WooCommerce Builder from the ProductX Menu
  3. On the left-hand menu, select “Shop”
  4. Import a design you like
  5. Import the design and you will land on the editor
  6. In the editor, you can make changes or keep everything as is
  7. Publish the page

It’s not even 10 steps if you choose to use one of the pre-made templates. It only takes 4 to 5 clicks of the mouse to create a shop page for your WooCommerce store.

Here’s a preview of where to import a Design template:

Now there are a couple of things to note here:

If you’re creating a shop page for the first time, there will be no templates available. The system will ask you whether you want to create a ‘design from scratch’ or use the templates.

Importing a ProductX WooCommerce Template
Importing a ProductX WooCommerce Template

Also, there is a ‘Synchronize’ button that can help you get access to the latest templates. Once you update the plugin and click on the synchronize button in the builder, you will get access to the new designs.

Here’s the editor panel view:

If you are not sure how the process works, just follow the resource below:

How to Create a WooCommerce Shop Page Template?

Now let’s move on to process 2.

Process 2. Using the Pre-made Blocks to Create a Single Shop Page Template

The plugin made the block design experience smoother with version 3.0. Also, you are free to use these blocks with the WooCommerce builder to create custom pages.

Previously, the product blocks did not have a lot of options. However, the product blocks received new features in the latest update. Also, they are a lot more fluid now.

And you can use these blocks to create custom WooCommerce pages.

Here’s how to create a custom single shop page template with the WooCommerce Page Builder:

  1. Select “Single Product” in the ProductX WooCommerce Builder
  2. Click on “Start from Scratch” – you will be taken to the editor
  3. In the editor, click on the “+ icon at the top left
  4. If you scroll down, you will find the single product page blocks by ProductX
  5. Bring the desired blocks to the page
  6. Make changes to the blocks if necessary
  7. Finally, publish the page

If you include the installation and other relevant processes, you are looking at around 10 steps.

Here’s a back-end view of the single product page:

Back-end view of a single product page

You are the artist here – just design and publish the page.

However, if you want to view the full process, make sure to check out the resource below:

How to customize a single product page template with ProductX?

What about Page Conditions?

Page conditions allow you, the user, to show specific content on specific pages. For example, you can show archive page contents in specific areas. The WooCommerce Page builder plugin gives you this option.

If you create an archive page for your WooCommerce store, you can set specific conditions for that page. Then the content will show up on that particular page.

Why ProductX is more Powerful - Page Conditions
Why ProductX is More Powerful – Page Conditions

The page builder for WooCommerce was and is a powerful tool. It’s one of the key things that makes ProductX a powerful WooCommerce page builder.

Remember one thing:

You can change the page conditions from the editor page or when you are building the page template for the first time.

But that’s not all. The banner maker quickly became an essential feature.

3. The Banner Maker: Share Offers with Your Audience

Tuhin, one of the marketing minds behind ProductX, had this to add:

“Banner marketing is a great way to let users know about offers on your site. We wanted to give an option in the hands of the user to do exactly that. It’s the sole purpose of the banner maker.”

But you don’t have to use the banner maker for promotions. You can be creative and use it for all kinds of things.

On a different note, if you are looking to sell something on your WooCommerce store this Black Friday, you may want to look at some of the best strategies listed here:

What Black Friday Marketing Strategies Should You Use?

How Does the Banner Maker Work?

The banner maker is a pre-made block. It’s a Gutenberg block that helps you to create different banner designs. Here’s how it works:

  1. Go to Pages > All Pages
  2. Choose the page where you want to put the banner and click “Edit”
  3. Now, click on the “+” icon to the top left
  4. Search for the ProductX Banner Maker Block
  5. Drag it to the desired position on the page
  6. Click on “Pattern”
  7. In the pattern library, choose a design and click “Import”
  8. Make changes to the banner as required
  9. Publish the page

One thing to note here:

You can create a custom design for the banner if you select “Start Blank” (once you bring the banner maker block to the page).

Here’s an example:

So you know how to make a banner for holiday promotions. The question is:

Does it really help?

Well, according to data, around 45-46% of users are looking for ‘something extra’. This is where an offer banner will help you the most.

On a similar note, we created a checklist that can help prepare your WooCommerce store correctly for Black Friday. It’s still not too late to put these strategies into practice:

How to Prepare Your Website for Black Friday Sales?

4. Building Custom Headers and Footers

Not all WooCommerce page builders have this feature. Some may work with other plugins. But that’s not very efficient.

The ProductX plugin had one goal in mind:

“Give total control in the hands of the user!”

With that in mind, the makers of the plugin came up with the header and footer builder. These are part of the powerful woocommerce page builder!

If you can create a custom shop page template, then creating a custom header or footer should be simple:

  1. Just select Header/Footer from the ProductX WooCommerce builder menu
  2. Choose one of the pre-made templates
  3. In the editor, make the changes you want
  4. Select the condition – where do you want the header/footer to show
  5. Publish the template

Your header template is now ready. Based on your preference, you can show it anywhere on your WooCommerce store.

Here’s a custom header template for a custom site:

Custom banner for WooCommerce Site

But the question is:

Is having a custom header or footer builder really necessary?

Turns out, it is!

A custom header is a necessity if you want your users to have a good first impression of your store. The footer is for necessary information about your website – things like affiliations, custom services, etc.

The makers of the plugin thought about everything.

Just like a header or footer template, you can also create a custom WooCommerce 404 page with the WooCommerce builder!

Things like these make ProductX a powerful WooCommerce Page Builder.

5. Use Custom Fonts on Your WooCommerce Store

Custom fonts are super helpful for any kind of store. It’s a necessity because

  • Brands can use custom fonts to share their unique identity
  • Clearly deliver the brand’s message – products, philosophy, and more

These necessities led to the creation of the ProductX custom fonts addon. To use your custom font throughout the store, you need to:

  1. Enable the ProductX custom fonts addon
  2. Go to ProductX > Custom Font
  3. Click on Add New
  4. Give the font a name
  5. Add the suitable file format
  6. Publish the font

Once you publish the font, you can use it anywhere on your site. To use the custom font in a product block:

  • Go to the typography settings of the block
  • Under the font “Family” search for the font and apply it

The font will be applied to the block.

We have a guide on adding fonts to WooCommerce pages – you may want to check it out.

6. Add Regional Pricing with the Currency Switcher

The Currency Switcher Block opens up purchasing opportunities for users around the world.

It’s a block that helps users from different regions get pricing information in their native currency. It works in the following way:

  1. Enable the WooCommerce currency switcher from ProductX Addons
  2. Go to the currency switcher addon setting
  3. Add the different currency information – the ones you want to show
  4. Now, go to the page where you want to show the currency block
  5. Use the “+” icon to search for the block and drag it to the page
  6. Publish the page

Now if you go to the front end of your website, you will see the currency switcher.

The Currency Switcher Block
The Currency Switcher Block

From the drop-down, you can choose the different currencies of different regions. We have a guide on variation swatches you can check out.

What are the advantages of a Custom WooCommerce Currency Switcher?

A product block like this gives you, the store admin, a couple of advantages:

  • Users of different regions can find prices in their own currency
  • Pricing availability for different regions has a positive impact on conversions

So that’s the currency switcher. So, what else makes ProductX a powerful WooCommerce page builder?

7. Smooth Integration with Popular Page Builders

Back in the previous versions, the WooCommerce plugin did not have proper compatibility with page builders like DIVI, Elementor, Beaver, etc.

That’s changed!

The plugin now features support for 5 potential page builders including Elementor and Divi, 2 of the biggest page builders currently available.

If you are using one of these plugins but want access to some powerful features, you are welcome to use ProductX.

But, you may want to consider this:

Can I use ProductX without other plugins?

Remember Jakir Hasan? He had this to say:

“ProductX is meant to be a standalone WooCommerce plugin. You need WooCommerce, nothing else!”

In the end, the choice is yours. You can use it as a standalone WooCommerce plugin or use it with other page builders if you want.

8. More Dedicated Support

Tonmoy Khan, the support lead behind the plugin had this to add:

“The latest version added a whole lot of ProductX. This made my job more interesting, allowing me to understand the pain points of a user and help them achieve success. Together, we are motivated to provide the best support to our users.”

This proves to be true if you look at the recent reviews from some of the customers.

In essence, the product leads the charge. With that, our support team adapts!

The team is super stoked to have such a support team by their side. What does this mean for you?

You get the proper solution every time!

Now, you may be wondering:

What else does the plugin have to offer?

What Else?

Those were the 8 reasons why ProductX is a more powerful WooCommerce Page Builder. But, what more can it offer?

The Advanced Product Sorter: Showcase the Right Products

The advanced product sorter (formerly product query builder) is one of the core features of the plugin. With the latest version, it became a lot more fluid. You can use it to showcase specific products on specific pages if you like.

Product Sort Feature
Product Sort Feature

The product sorter is common in most product grids and list blocks. You can use these blocks and use the product sorter to showcase specific products.

A Redesigned Product Filtering System

In the previous versions, the product filtering wasn’t very powerful. But, in the latest version of the plugin, the product filtering block became more agile.

Users feel more comfortable using it.

Show Variations with the WooCommerce Variation Swatches

You are missing out on a lot of customers if there is no way to show any product variations.

Variation Swatches
Variation Swatches

With version 3.0 of the plugin, you can show product variations more effectively. The feature is more fluid and dynamic than ever!

Work with Custom Buttons

Custom Buttons is one of the latest additions. Without them, it is not possible to showcase your brand identity.

But, with the custom button feature of the plugin in version 3.0, you can easily do this. This feature gives you granular-level control over showcasing your brand.

What’s the Future of ProductX

The ProductX version 3.0 roadmap includes the following major updates slated for the future:

  1. Speed optimizations throughout the plugin – the features will feel more snappy and responsive.
  2. A powerful template kit for 1-click site deployment
  3. More feature additions and speed optimizations to the WooCommerce Builder
  4. Updates to features like product quick view, filter, compare, and more – reducing dependency on other plugins.

So, you can expect more improvements in the coming days!

The Decision is Yours

Omith Hasan, one of the creative ideators behind the marketing team, had this to add:

“It’s always a pleasure to work on the marketing of a product that is so well thought out! The product has expanded, and we are more motivated to help our users.”

The bottom line is this:

You are at will to give ProductX a shot. Given the feature set, it would be a waste not to!

ProductX Vs. CoDesigner [Which One to Use for WooCommerce?] https://www.wpxpo.com/productx-vs-codesigner/ https://www.wpxpo.com/productx-vs-codesigner/#respond Mon, 30 Oct 2023 03:03:59 +0000 https://www.wpxpo.com/?p=51623 Are you looking to create your first WooCommerce store? Well, you’ve come to the right place. Today, we are here with the ProductX vs. CoDesigner comparison.

Now the next question is: Why these two plugins?

Well, both these plugins have some distinct features that make them potential options for beginners. However, while going through the features of these plugins we found specific differences that we will address here today.

Hopefully, this discussion will help you find the right choice for your next WooCommerce store.

A Brief Introduction of the WooCommerce Plugins

The following sections give you a brief idea of the plugins. Both these plugins are similar in the sense that they both help you create WooCommerce stores.

ProductX WooCommerce Builder Plugin

ProductX is a Gutenberg WooCommerce builder plugin that allows you to create complete WooCommerce sites in just a few clicks. It’s a lightweight and easy-to-use plugin that allows users to create shop pages, single product pages, archive pages, and others without hassle, enabling smooth customization.

Among the various features of this plugin, you have:

  • A WooCommerce builder to build custom shop pages.
  • A wide variety of pre-made templates and patterns for quick deployment.
  • An array of easy-to-use controls within each product block.
  • Advanced product sorting to show selected items to users.
  • Variation swatches to show different variations of products.
  • Pre-order and back-order functionalities for better usability.
  • Call-for-price feature for better sale of products.
  • Enable partial payments to increase product sales.
  • Currency switcher for user convenience.
  • Stock progress bar for easy product tracking
  • Quick view, compare, and Wishlist features to offer a customized experience.
  • An advanced product filter for customized product search.
ProductX WooCommerce Plugin

The plugin offers granular-level functionality with its product blocks and allows users to freely customize their WooCommerce shops without any difficulty.

CoDesigner WooCommerce Plugin for Elementor

CoDesigner is an Elementor-focused WooCommerce plugin that allows Elementor users to create online shop pages. The plugin is easy to use with Elementor and has a couple of good product blocks with proper settings. Among its various features, you have:

  • A wide number of WooCommerce widgets for Elementor.
  • Features a proper email designer for shop admins.
  • Offer a shop notification setting for tracking item purchases.
  • An easy-to-use pricing table to show customized service pricing.
  • Cross-platform copy and paste setting for better usability.
CoDesigner WooCommerce Plugin

The above-mentioned options are some of the notable features of the plugin. They have good design controls that are easy enough to understand and customize. Elementor users will find it a useful option.

Now, let’s dive deeper into the plugins and see which plugin wins this comparison.

Basic Plugin Requirements

The very first thing about these plugins is the dependency. For both plugins, you need to have the WooCommerce WordPress plugin installed on your WordPress website.

ProductX is a Standalone Plugin

But, with ProductX, you only need the WooCommerce plugin. You don’t need any other 3rd party plugins to create a WooCommerce store. You will be able to use it as a standalone option, or with page builders like Elementor, Divi, Oxygen, Beaver Builder, etc.

CoDesigner Requires Elementor

Since the CoDesigner plugin is an Elementor-based plugin, you will need both WooCommerce and Elementor for the plugin to work. You cannot use it as a standalone option like the ProductX plugin. In short, you won’t be able to build pages without the help of functionalities from Elementor.

Both these plugins will work with the latest version of WordPress

However, ProductX is the clear winner here because of its lower dependency. You just have to install ProductX to create WooCommerce pages. You don’t need to rely on any other page builders. You can think of it as a standalone plugin to create a WooCommerce Store.

ProductX Vs. CoDesigner: Feature Comparison

In terms of features, both plugins have their ups and downs – there are some notable differences between the two. Let’s explore them:

Presence of a WooCommerce Builder

One of the great things about the ProductX plugin is its WooCommerce builder

The WooCommerce builder is an independent builder that allows you to build custom product page templates without 3rd part plugin dependencies (except only for WooCommerce). Here’s a quick overview of how it works:

ProductX WooCommerce Builder

You can create the home page, shop page, cart page, checkout page, single product page, thank you page, header, footer, and other templates with the builder.

The best thing is, that you don’t have to change any particular settings if you don’t want to. All you have to do is set the condition for the page template – where you want to show that template on your online store.

That’s it. The page template will show up exactly on that page.

Though you can do a lot of things with CoDesigner, you have some dependencies with WooCommerce. You can create templates using the widgets. But you need to make changes to the WooCommerce settings for that design to show up on that page.

For example, if you create a shop page template with CoDesigner and Elementor, you need to go to WooCommerce > Settings > Products and change the shop page template to the template you just designed with Elementor.

Pre-made Templates and Patterns

ProductX comes with 80+ different pre-made page templates with 10+ starter packs. These templates and patterns are deployable with a single click.

From creating the template to saving it will take no more than 3-5 clicks (if you are using a pre-made design that is!).

Unfortunately, CoDesigner is lacking in this section. You have to enable a specific widget before you can use it with Elementor. On average, you need at least 5-8 clicks to deploy your design.

Also, with CoDesigner you have 80+ widgets. However, you have limited patterns for the designs.

The Ready Made Product Blocks

The Widgets in CoDesigners have enough design properties to create single WooCommerce pages.

However, with ProductX, you have better flexibility given the number of templates you have. Only for the single product page, you have more than 15+ product blocks with in-built design controls. And you don’t have to rely on any other plugins.

Variation Swatches for Showcasing Product Variations

The ‘variation swatches’ is a notable feature of the ProductX plugin. You have the option to showcase various product attributes using the feature – allowing users to see the different product variations in your store. Here’s how you can use it:

Unfortunately with CoDesigner, you don’t have such a potential feature.

Partial Payments, Pre-order and Back-order

Features like partial payments, pre-orders, and backorders are essential for boosting sales. With ProductX, you have the option to enable or disable these features.

Again, with CoDesigner, you are not getting such important features.

Email Designer Feature

The Email designer is a prominent feature of the CoDesigner plugin. You can design emails to send the customer after the purchase. You can also test whether or not the email is being sent to the right user.

Unfortunately, you do not have such a feature with ProductX. Still, you can create custom thank you pages and the user will be able to see a custom thank you page after purchase.

The Ability to Switch Currencies

The ProductX Plugin gives its users the ability to switch currencies of Products to showcase region-specific prices using the currency switcher block. Here’s a quick video to show you how the feature works:

How does Variation Swatches Work?

The feature is not present in the CoDesigner plugin.

Use Various Page Builders

You can use the ProductX plugin with various page builders including Elementor. However, with CoDesigner, you can only create templates with Elementor. You are not free to creatively design with other page builders.

This is just a high-level overview of some of the key features of these WooCommerce plugins. However, you may want to look at the table below to get a better overview of the plugins:

Distinction of Key Traits between ProductX and CoDesigner

Ease of Use

The ease of use for a WooCommerce plugin depends on a couple of things:

Does the plugin have proper documentation?

Unfortunately, the CoDesigner plugin does not have tidy documentation. It lacks the flow that is needed for a user to find the proper solution from the documentation.

In contrast to the CoDesigner plugin, the ProductX plugin has tidier documentation. Solving issues from the documentation is easier because of the way the doc is laid out for the plugin.

What is the Cost of Going Pro?

Again, ProductX comes out on top as it is independent of other plugins. You are getting a plugin that can build product pages freely. However, you do need the WooCommerce plugin for functionality.

The CoDesigner plugin relies on both WooCommerce and Elementor (as mentioned earlier). This will raise your investment price if you are looking to go pro.

Are the settings intuitive enough?

When you are using a setting in a plugin, it should be intuitive. You should be able to understand how the settings work just by looking at it. Fortunately, the settings in ProductX are intuitive enough that a user can understand how the next setting works.

But, as mentioned before, with the CoDesigner WooCommerce plugin, it is difficult to understand how to show a page after you create the template. Also, you need to have an idea about both WooCommerce and Elementor to create WooCommerce elements.

So, the question now stands: which plugin is harder?

In contrast to CoDesigner, ProductX has a more reasonable learning curve. It’s simply because of the fact that you only need to have a basic understanding of ProductX and WooCommerce to get started.

Also, with ProductX, you have the 1-click import feature that brings a page template to life without the need for excessive customization.

How easy is it to build something with the plugin?

One of the great things about the pre-made templates and patterns of ProductX is the 1-click template/pattern import.

For example, if you want to create a homepage for your WooCommerce store with ProductX, you can simply import a template and be done with it.

With CoDesigner, however, you don’t have any pre-made templates you can use to create a page readily. Although the blocks are pre-made, the designs are very minimal. Also, you need to change certain WooCommerce properties to show the page in a certain location on your WooCommerce store.

Plugin Support

Both plugins show great promise when it comes to customer support. With an average rating of 4.4 out of 5 stars for both plugins, you can expect good customer support from both parties.

And in terms of recent updates, both plugins manage to offer a steady flow of feature updates

So, in terms of plugin support, both plugins are offering similar support.

Plugin Pricing

The ProductX plugin has 3 pricing tiers for yearly and lifetime purchases. Pricing starts from $49 for yearly plans. Pricing for lifetime product support starts from $149

Similarly, the CoDesigner plugin has a similar pricing tier with a yearly and a lifetime plan. Pricing starts from $49 for yearly plans and $149 for lifetime plans.

And the Winner is…

From the testing, it is clear that the ProductX plugin has superior features and functionality. It’s easy to use, is usable with various page builders, has plenty of important features, and doesn’t require any extensive knowledge of other plugins.

Although the CoDesigner plugin lacks in some spaces, it has some solid features like the Email builder, pricing table, and sales alert, it depends on another plugin.

Because of its dependence on Elementor, some features do require you to dive deep into the features and settings of WooCommerce and Elementor. Also, the documentation doesn’t help very much in this case.

Furthermore, given the performance of CoDesigner, the pricing doesn’t feel too justified. You have some great features. Still, ProductX offers more – acting as a full site builder for WooCommerce stores.
